The London Underground is the oldest system of its kind in the world, with a history that stretches all the way back to 1863.
Compared to many of the city’s pubs though, it’s a mere youngster! Many of London’s pubs date back several centuries… so it’s perhaps no surprise then that a number of tube stations are named after them.
In this video we’re going to begin exploring the stories behind these pubs, plus of course the histories of the stations with which they’re associated.
This is part 1 of 3; we’ll be looking at two locations per episode, so please be sure to stay tuned!
