Mada Caves
The area consists of a group of rock cut caves that span 32 km in Wada in the 7-8th century BC. Mada caves are located in the Mada tehsil of Singrauli district. Famous caves include Vivah Mada, Ganesh Mada and Shankar Mada, Jalnalia and Ravana Moda. In addition to rock cut caves, there are painted rock shelters in Singrauli. Ranimachi, Dholagiri and Gaura mountains lie in the Chitrangi tehsil of Singrauli. These paintings belong to the Mesotheotic era of rock shelter mycrolithic tools culture.
Jaljaliya Mada Caves
There are two caves in this cave complex, one of which is a temple cave and the other is an underground cave, which is in the form of a pool. The temple has a statue of Lord Shiva and a statue of the Goddess. The most interesting aspect is that the pool is an unknown source of water in the cave and was probably used as a bathing pool in ancient times. About 200 meters from this cave, a small temple is dedicated to Goddess Sita known as Sita Kuti. It is a small waterfall, also known as the wish-fulfilling waterfall and is therefore popular among the locals.
